transcript

Since you hung around, but those dreams every made, and they turned around.

Always good spot rare, welcome back and I smile way I think and I know what to see you again learning.

Was there something that they have never lead you?

Welcome back.

Welcome back, your dreams were your ticket, welcome back, same old place, but those dreams have remained, and they turn around.

Goddamn nature where we need to have him on the spot.

Welcome back.

Welcome back.

Welcome back.

Welcome back.

Welcome back.

Welcome back.

Hey, welcome back.

All right.

So this is until it that works and Yeah, it's kind of stretch it out.

Oh, man.

Oh, so I got, oh, okay, little backstory.

So I have a radio show that I do on Saturdays.

And normally, I do a majority of getting stuff uploaded while at the station, but it was a Christmas.

So I want to make it back home for dinner.

And, so I figured, you know, maybe after dinner or whatever I would work on it.

Yeah, I didn't.

I was so full.

I just like I am going to bed and so yeah, so I got Early this morning like five to finish it up.

So got all that done, feels good.

I have got to do some post promo stuff.

But the recording is out there in on the podcast and on the website and all that stuff.

So yeah, so good.

So I have been up for a minute.

And so we're going to see how long I can last.

All right.

So like I said, welcome to until-- it dots works.

This is like an online study group.

We're okay.

So throughout the day there're ciphers and there's those are three-hour blocks of time.

Right?

And on Sundays.

Well Sunday for me.

I have to ciphers that I do and each Cipher each three-hour block consists of work sessions and break sessions work, sessions are about 45 minutes of just focusing on whatever is any focused on and getting something done.

Then we have like brick sessions, which have been 15 minutes after the hour.

And those are just, you know, kind of be able to like What's Happening Now.

You kind of stretch, you can walk around.

Let your mind kind of Wander from that task that you work on kind of thing.

And so, yeah, so that's what we do.

We do those three times that comes to three hours and hopefully at the end you got something done, or maybe learn something new.

So that's the hope.

So right now.

So let us talk about give like orientation.

So if you look above, you will see the menu.

And so pay attention to the Subscribe, that is where you can see a list of upcoming ciphers.

I still need to add for like, January and on, but normally, they're around this time and you will be able to subscribe to get notified on the device you subscribed with.

When we go live cool, then we have this video where you're watching me now.

So here is where the Break Stuff will happen.

So I will be talking about stuff.

I found interesting on the internet where the be like a certain web Technologies or in artists that we play on the radio show.

Look at take a look at their website listen to music, but also y'all can hop on here as well.

We can have like a video chat where we talked about.

Where was that?

You find interesting as well.

So we will talk about how you can sign up for that.

Then below that just a little indicator in that.

You may need to click play to start to stream in an upcoming version.

I am going to have it because the thing is, you can't have Auto playing video with audio on websites.

Like if you just go to a website, you can't have autoplay video and audio.

You can have audio play video but have it muted.

So there's no audio and so that's what I am Made do and so it doesn't look like it's frozen or if there's an issue.

So that way you just click a button on mute it, you're good to go.

So I am going to do that on a couple of other upcoming projects that I have going on that I am building now.

And then I will come back to this one.

Alright, also, if you next to that, if you click the open closed caption button, well they will do is, is open up space on the site?

And what's happening right now is as I am saying words, I am using the Web speech recognition API is built into the Chrome browser and as taking my speech and turning into text and placing it there.

Below that we have the just was weird.

We have two buttons.

There's the attic lip and then create a highlight video.

So you can there's something that you found interesting in these brakes able to click add a clip.

What happens is it will take like five seconds around that clip around the thing you found interesting and you get five of those.

And so when you finish, you could create a highlight video What that does are take all those timestamps and it will send it off to a back end that I have.

I will make calls a different apis and it will take the recording, cut out your Clips, put them together.

Add a custom front end which is like has your username in it.

And then also like a back like an ending title card, put them all together and then you will be able to check it out, download it and post it to social media, and we will show you how where you figure that out.

As well.

Alright, then we have the countdown timer, that's counting down to when the next work session is going to happen.

And then, yeah, so that's everything they do and then if you want to join the chat room and so you can ask questions and think that nature as well.

All right, let me go through now with the work session.

Looks like, here we go.

Let me share my screen.

All right.

Don't eat any audio for that.

Cool.

So here is what your work session, should look like the background is like, randomly picked, so it may not be that, but it was like a calming natural environment kind of thing.

So that's that.

Oh, again, with the menu up here.

So you can go ahead and subscribe for upcoming, ciphers upper left-hand Corner.

We have a band camp player and I get to know I am lucky enough to get to know a bunch of different artists.

And so, a lot of them make really great music while making music.

I wouldn't play them on the radio show, they didn't, but a few of them I submitted tracks.

So I could use it for like projects like this and so you can check it out.

It's like a list of a bunch of artists.

So when you click play, if you want listen to some music, it will just kind of go through the list.

I think, I haven't randomly like swap them out.

So you will be able to every time it will be something new.

Yeah, so Are the S is a bank and play like I said, so you go to buy the track.

If you like it, you can share it.

And then if you really like the track, you can help spread the word about it and send out a tweet.

And now open up Twitter in a new window with a pre-populated tweet promoting the artist and you know, just spreading some love.

All right, then in this towards the center of the page we have the to do's and so this is where you put all the tasks that you want to try and get done.

And so like where it says add.

A task type it in there, hit the plus button or hit enter.

It will add it to this section in the center.

And then you will be able to, you can click on one.

You can click a task to edit it.

If you need to change the text, you can also delete it.

Then you can also check the tick box.

Check, check the box.

Check mark box, whatever, and they will send it to the done.

If you want to see the task, you completed, you just click the done and I will show you the tasks that were completed.

Now when everything is all said and done, you can click the Twitter icon that will I will open up Twitter again in a new browser and with a pre-populated tweet with all the tasks that you completed.

So it's kind of like a way of like I got some stuff done.

Feel good about it.

I can continue on with the rest of my day, knowing that I have got these things completed.

All right, then you see another countdown timer that countdown to when the next break session is.

Again, they have in 15 minutes after the hour.

We have tutorials.

So if you don't have a thing, you want to work on but you still want to feel productive and get something done.

Then you can click that.

There, if you are new to coding and never done it before, I got links to free code camp and the Odin project.

What I understand, they're really good resources.

They weren't around when I started.

So but people have told me that it's help them out.

Also, I am a JavaScript developer Advocate at Vonage.

So with that includes like, working on blog posts and tutorials and like guides and all those things.

So I have three projects there, which I think they're pretty cool.

One is you create an application?

You can put in a phone number and it will dial the phone number in the real world.

So you will be able to have a conversation back and forth.

Then we have the opposite where you can dial a virtual number on a real phone, real world phone and pick it up in the application that you create in the tutorial and have a conversation kind of cool.

And then there's also one where you have two windows of application open and you sign in with different.

Users and then you're able to have an audio chat through the actual application, through the web and I use that in some parts of until it that works as well.

So cool stuff below that.

We have the hot comb now.

How Co stands for help a coder / Creator out and with that you can create a room where you as the owner get a unique URL that's generated.

You can post that the social media or send it to somebody.

E is for if you need help or feedback on something, and once that person clicks, the link, they will be the request to join your room.

Now, they just don't jump into the room.

You can see a list of who's requesting to join and then you will be able to check out their profile depending on what social media they logged in with.

So either Twitter or GitHub and then you can kind of determine whether or not you want that person in?

Cool.

Now you as the owner, can share your screen, right?

And so you can show where you're having issues or like where you want to get feedback on and then there's a chat room.

And so there's text chat.

There's that speech, like audio chat as well.

You can do that.

And there's also speech to text.

And then text to speech, and so I try to have all sorts of ways if people want to communicate their options are available.

So there is that cool any be able to view whatever Hawk goes there are as well.

Then spoke about earlier.

If you want to come on to these break session to talk about something, you found interesting.

All right below their, the show-and-tell sign up.

That's where you do that, like, five ten minutes, talk about whatever you found.

Interesting, kind of like what I am doing in upcoming breaks yummy.

So if you Free to come by and you know, talk about what have we found interesting or something that you learned and then below that, the remember that those clips you sent off to the back end to Beacon, to be created a highlight video here.

It was a status submitted.

Yes, status submitted.

And then when it's ready to be viewed, it was a status done.

The view button will show up.

You can click view or bring up like a little overlay thing.

And you can watch the video, and if you like it, you can download it.

And then there's also like you can tweet it out.

And so you go to Quick tweet, open up Twitter.

Have a link to it.

And what's cool is the preview video will be your video.

So it will link to the actual archive, the recording of the whole break session, but the preview video that Twitter shows will be the video that you created.

It and now sometimes it's showed the I guess depends on the device and screen size whatever.

So sometimes the preview card doesn't show up with the video.

So we can do is what I have been doing is downloading the video and attaching it to the Tweet.

So that way I know it shows up and I have also posting to Instagram as well.

So I downloaded for that also, and yeah, so that's pretty much everything.

I want to thank you all for hanging out.

If you have any questions, A, my put out a way that you can send me a message, but you can always hit me up on Twitter.

If anything, lifelong Dev, you know what, let me put that link.

It's going to be with the video the archive video, but it's a life.

Long Dev.

I think that's right now.

They should be fine.

All right, so let me stop sharing the screen here.

All right.

So hopefully whatever is that you're working on.

You make some progress.

Hopefully this will help these sessions will help.

And yeah, I am gonna get you all back to work because there's a lot of stuff.

I need to get done and you finish up the post radio show stuff.

I want to start working some stuff on the van.

And yeah, I have been working on its other project.

Been making some pretty good progress last week since I was off and I want to get back to that as well.

So I am going to start testing some things and now.

Yeah, with that.

Let me send you all back on your way.

This track is one of my like favorite tracks from new Jabez.

It's featuring a Pawnee be that's called.

Thank you because I want to thank you all for hanging out.

And so I, yeah, I will.

So almost forgot to create the video.

Here we go.

And we started this.

Let me set the time can do that now?

All righty.

Stop doing that.

Okay, I am gonna send you all on your way.

Thanks again for hanging out.

Let me set this.

This timer.

And Yeah, see y'all soon much productivity.

Yeah.

Alright.

Thanks again for hanging out.

And yes, here we go.

I am going to show you how.
