Welcome back, your dreams were your ticket.

Welcome back that same old place that you but those dreams every vein, and they turn around.

He taught us.

We got it on the spot.

Welcome back.

Welcome back, welcome back.

Welcome back.

Welcome back, welcome back.

Hey, welcome back.

All right.

Thanks for coming back while you really have a choice.

The website actually turns into this so but just give it a stretch.

Oh yeah, feels good.

All righty.

Okay, so hopefully you are productive.

I actually got enough done to where I am going to do like a really quick demo of it.

I was really rough.

All right so this is not how it's going to like look in the end well knowing me you're probably very similar.

But it will work better.

Okay.

So Let me share my screen.

I guess that's probably a good thing but let me something I need to look up.

Hold on.

Let me see.

Um Open here because there's a thing I want to also show.

It's on my hold on a second here.

My the look at my Chromebook to get the actual URL, probably.

But let me I want to talk about this other thing, which is pretty cool as well.

Of course, I am not going to find it now.

Okay, I will when it comes to it, I will actually look it up on my Chromebook.

All right now, so I created this site, let us see here, share my screen.

Don't need audio but it's fine.

I will share audio.

So I created this website a while ago, it's called doing stuff that I am doing stuff in, and we add a link to it.

So it's a site that I created.

So for what I start traveling what why I was starting to travel again?

Because again I am a developer Advocate advantage, and so I had a previous job and another industry where I did a lot of traveling.

And I always I mean I took like pictures and stuff but I wanted a place that I can kind of have everything that I can look at and have memories from you know, the later.

And, so I created doing stuff that I N and also I have Duane .i on.

So I could always put like Dwayne .i n / Miami or whatever and so like Dwayne in Miami and it will go to a page here on doing stuff that I end because the idea was also, like, doing stuff in / Miami or whatever.

So that's where the name kind of came from.

And so you just welcome to my super Alpha release of the site to Chronicle my travels.

That's pretty much everything.

And so is actually kind of the second version of this one because I rebuilt it using on Astro dot build which I have spoken about before but let me show you that now Stroh dot build.

It was a pretty cool site.

And the reason because I think the first, yeah, the first version was also felt right now.

This one is Astro as like the framework and the parts that I want to be like interactive or what have you are built-in svelte, right?

So like this first page is all pretty much just HTML CSS?

Yeah, things pretty much it.

Well, I think there might be some JavaScript as far as like clicking these buttons and things And so, you see, they kind of like, Chronicle the trips that I have been on so far.

So this one was in Greece and so it kind of like hops around the map when you click the buttons, right?

And so when you click view stories, It opens up.

And one of the reasons why I liked Astro was that I could like this same link.

I could take this link open up a new tab.

And go directly to that page again, whereas before with this felt app.

But I will use sapper before to do stuff like this where if I wanted like a unique URL so that other people can check out, but then they kind of felt deprecated sapper.

And I am moving over this felt kit.

What's felt kit isn't really ready to be used yet?

Kind of you know, I am saying?

And, so I wanted something that's kind of like lightweight.

And what I like about Astro is that it kind of like, compiles your stuff to just what you need, right?

So I was like, all right, cool.

I will get like, an actual URL and I get the like everything compiled down and only using JavaScript, or this felt components when I really need them.

So that's why I chose to use Astro with Spell components, all right?

And, so I have like a whole back end where I can like upload pictures that I take and it all gets kind of like formatted so like some food on the plane or whatever some more food on the plane to Greece, it's a good time and then I have like little notes and things that I take.

So like the video, like, video this stuff.

I am just upload to like Photo Google photos or whatever, like it photos and stuff.

Like there's not like really a way to attach like little notes and things.

So that's another reason why I wanted to create my own site.

And so then you can like minimize if you want to see more of the picture and stuff, and they can bring it back up.

Now I also am a big fan of like 360 videos and cameras and so everywhere I go like I always like to take a 360 of the hotel.

Room, for whatever reason.

I don't know.

I think it's cool.

And so, like, this is the hotel I stayed at in Greece.

Nice, a nice room.

Real nice.

Got a lot of work done in there so it was good because they had like a really nice table where I could work at and stuff.

So, it was pretty good, one too bad.

That's bad, that's bad.

And so, yeah, I just like to take her into pictures.

Now that's what I have been doing before, right?

I have kind of taken a break from traveling to get Like a bunch of work done.

And now travel season started to come back again for me.

All right, so I have like, I am lining up more events, and so I thought it would be cool to add a new feature to the site to where I can announce, like I am going to be in this area.

Does anybody have any suggestions of things to visit plots and I just walk around and take pictures of like graffiti and stuff?

So but people have like restaurants or maybe if there's other stuff.

Two.

Um, like check out, they would be able to put it on a form and on a map or whatever, right?

So that's where I started.

I want to be able to get suggestions from people who may be either live there, where I have been there as for like cool things to do, right?

So give suggestions basically.

So I started working on this like last week or whatever a little bit during the break session during last week's until it that works.

Ciphers.

And, so I kind of came up with this so far.

All right.

So go to have a map right now?

It's just for Paris, right?

That's just like, the test location I created, right?

And so, it's going to show the map.

And then eventually, we will let me refresh this.

So this is how it's going to look basically.

So it's going to have the map, then you have liked it's like I am going to be in this place for an event and a date range, or whatever.

What are some things to do?

And see or see and do?

And so, now, once there's a list of things, I have a list here or it will say like nothing yet, please submit one or whatever, right?

And then there's going to be a forum.

Now, you will have to log in with Twitter to be able to make a suggestion.

I am doing that just, so I can kind of like cut down.

On like spam or whatever you have to say, I am not peopled in probably not going to see this but there's gotta want Bots to get to it or anything like that.

So just kind of like one of the and plus I want to like tag you as a person to suggest suggested so the suggestions will show up on the map, and we will have like your little Twitter icon and the thing is suggesting, right?

And so you just fill out the form.

So like an event Test.

Location.

Come back to let us say it's up here.

I am still working on the form, right?

So basically you would fill out like the event or place so it's like a restaurant or like a park or maybe it's like a festival or something right?

You put in the location the description and if it has a website and then like if it's like an event or whatever and there's like a specific date and time then you put that in there.

Write that stuff.

I am still working on what I wanted to do, the kind of like also further down on some, like, cut down some like spam or whatever, like the location on my back end, which I probably should have shown that I didn't.

But on the back end, when I create the test event the events or whatever I set up like a boundary, so I can put in like a city name, but I am also going to probably do it to where I can because I need to find that thing.

But it's, like, open something out.

I will look it up.

But so the plants on the back end, I will be able to set boundaries either by physically putting in Max Min Latin longitudes or putting in a name and having it pre-populate whatever it's like I can put in like Paris France it will give me the bounding box basically for it, right?

Using this API that I will talk about soon but So, let us say we fill that out, right?

So let us say there's the guard, ooh, Nord right, which is a the train station that I took from London into Paris.

Place is huge.

It's kind of cool, right?

And so, as a nice way to kind of check out, and so let us say I wanted to suggest that for parents, right?

I don't have to be able to see it down here towards the bottom and you probably see that So, if I submit the suggestion.

So now, this is in Paris, right?

Smith suggestion can see location is valid, and then, it will go on to submit the suggestion, right?

So I wanted to have a check of the location that the person is submitting, just to make sure it's cool, right?

And then, so let us say like Miami Beach, Miami Beach, Florida, definitely not in Paris, right?

So if I go ahead and submit that suggestion, See some location is invalid.

Try again.

So yeah so what I am doing is I am let me find the actual the URL, so I can put it in here and show it Comes on.

Okay, hopefully, I remember the first few characters and I will pull up in my browser.

Yep.

There we go.

We will put a link to this as well.

Okay, so now this is no middle, no minute, Tim this.

That's why I can remember it.

But it's like openstreetmap, dot, orgs, like I got a pi thing or something.

And so, I am making calls to this.

So, like that same thing, the gar Du Nord But what I am doing is I am making a search for it and so it comes back with a whole bunch of details so it will give you stuff like the lat and longitude of it.

Oh come on.

Where is it?

Yeah, so, like right here.

So like the latitude longitude, right?

And now, if I do the same thing, so, on the back end, I set the boundaries, so I can like search like, Paris or whatever you write Paris, France.

Sir.

So I am making a call to the API and it's let us see here.

So it gives me like a boundary so it gives me like what I don't think it's this API request.

So you can see the actual request And here we go.

And so see right here, the bounding box.

So this gives me the max latitude minimum latitude.

Max longitude minimum longitude, right?

And the actual is what I use the center of the map.

And so now I have this and you can see.

So it's like for between 48 and twos.

Right, if you look at the here, We're here.

So the SC 48 and to so it falls within it.

And that's why I came back as a valid thing, that's what I am using now.

I don't know if there's another way to do it, but that's what I am doing now.

And so this is a really cool API and then, so if it lands outside of that boundary, then I return.

No.

So, there's just a thing I kind of created so that I could do, like, a quick check of it.

And so yeah, that's it.

Pretty cool.

I am hoping to hit have this working by the end of this week.

You mean work on off and on pretty much everything is done.

I had to do some stuff on the back end and the admin Parts, add some stuff and I had to like figure out some data structure, things, like, where I wanted things to show up and then pulling it from the front and kind of going back and forth and tweaking things and so, but so far I think is coming up pretty good.

Oh also, I wanted to show.

I also worked on because this view on, like, a desktop or tablets.

Pretty cool.

But what happens if it's somebody wants to make a suggestion on, like a mobile device, right?

So I had, I thought about that.

And so as.

So you can see here, the map is on the left and then I have like the details and the form and the list on the, right?

So as it gets the viewport gets smaller.

You see, it goes down to the bottom now.

And so everything kind of like shifted.

So the map is on top and the details in the form and the list and everything is on the bottom, so that way unlike smaller devices.

I think that will be a little bit easier to navigate and things, so, but yeah, so that's what I am working on.

So at some point so when people suggest stuff is not just it's going to go into like a cue that I will then be able to verify, make sure everything is cool and then approve them, and then they will Start showing up on the map itself and then people can click them and get information and stuff and so yeah, that's the plan.

So I am getting there slowly, but surely, but it's working, and I am kind of happy at how that like location, validation thing turned out.

So yeah, pretty happy with it.

Okay, so enough about that, let me stop the screen share and get you all back to work again.

Thanks for hanging out.

Hopefully, you are getting some stuff done as well and yeah, I am gonna send you all back.

Once and do some traveling music though, and this is new Jabez featuring a Piney be the track is called, thank you.

And yeah, let us screenshare.

Definitely want to have audio.

And here we go.

Again, thanks for hanging out.
